Yeah! That's what this is! My 100th post! And I guess I am making a bigger deal of it than it actually it. But like anyone cares. Besides, it seems fine to sound cocky and brash from time to time.
I'm glad that I stuck to what I like doing, that being writing. I shall hopefully be at it, like I have been at it for the past 2 months or so. I remember writing my first post in the college library's computer lab. This was about a year and a half ago. I thought to myself how, and rather why, would anyone read some random bloke's ramblings. But on the very second day, my Blogger-console showed that 15 people clicked the link to my blog. THAT was motivating. And it just caught on.
I have learned a bunch of things through writing, although I'm yet to do anything world-altering with it. And here are my words on your screen, bringing the lessons I learned, to you. So here's what I learned.
Persist, persist, and persist... ANNND PERSIST! If you like doing something, keep doing it! This is a lot easier said than done. And I bet I won't be able to apply what I just said, to other things that I do. Maybe that's because I don't have many other things  I like to do, or maybe I haven't tried "persisting" that much in other avenues. But the trick seems to be working here. So that's that.
Writing tells you one thing. And that is..... The problem we all face in this world is not hostility. The problem we face is indifference. People usually, don't give a shit about what you do. That's because inaction is a lot more convenient than endorsing something. Because when you endorse something, you are by default, attached to the ups and downs of the things you endorse. Writing taught me to endure this indifference.
Writing has helped me bond with others. I've seen my mom cry after she read one of my posts. I've had friends who saw themselves in my writing, specially when I WAS writing about them, and they were been happy to see that someone cares about them behind their backs. Their happiness in turn, gives me the satisfaction for having made another soul that tad-bit happy. Through writing, I got a new perspective when it comes to beauty, specially feminine beauty. And since I am a bit low on talking, which usually is a drawback in any relationship, I just got a new way of communicating my thoughts with the ones close to me. Talk about non-verbal communication! And since I don't hold back anything while I am at it, writing allows me to put the most transparent version of myself in front of the world.
Further, I cannot describe my elation when I hear from someone that they read a post of mine, specially so if I hadn't nagged the living daylights out of them to read my post. Another thing writing teaches you to do is to 'Not expect a thing'. It is like the Bhagwat Geeta says, "Do your thing, and don't bother about the result."
You never know who will click your link. You don't know IF anyone will. So no point breaking your head over it. I write what I feel like, and feel relieved that a part of me is now behind me, and will remain out there for the rest of eternity (or at least till the Internet exists). It is like the PENSIVE in the Harry Potter books. A piece of your thoughts is left in a pool, there for you to access at any point in time you please to revisit it.
Writing lets me get hold of my feelings like nothing else... Well, usually. It also allows my thoughts, often in shambles, become that one small bit more streamlined.
I have seen a bunch of people getting excited about writing after having seen what I do. Trust me, there isn't a thing bigger as a source of motivation, knowing that you are a cause of someone's motivation.
Writing has taught me to look for motivation. I found my easiest sources in women! Oh yes! You gorgeously wonderful creatures! Had you not been in my life, or at least in my vicinity, this post would have happened only after another century. And I can already see some of you ladies smiling, as you do know who I am talking about. That's one more thing about writing about writing. You can say exactly what you want to, to the person/persons you want, without revealing their identity.
I fell in love while I was(and still am) making writing a habit. I now realize that hadn't writing been by my side, the whole feeling of being in love would have been much less exciting.
I could go on like this, probably for ever. Did I talk about how writing helps me turn fact into fiction? Shit! I totally forgot to talk about how writing helped me with my language. Ah, chuck all of it! Foremost of all, it is the ones close to me, who comment , the ones who take the liberty to be critical, the ones who brazenly make fun of my posts, whom I shall be ever so grateful to. My prime source of motivators. Were it not for you bearing my yakking, I would have long lost the motivation to write. And all my learnings would have stopped long before any of it even started. That's it with all my thanking. Where the fuck's my award? Huh? The golden lady standing on some book of sorts, no??
And yeah, by the way! I invite anyone, who's interested in starting a blog, to START a blog! What stops you, is completely beyond my comprehension. It's absolutely FREE!!! FREE!!! FREEEEE!!!!!!
*Wow! I should be payed for publicizing all blogging platforms!

Being hormonal

The universe inside my head knows me for being super-volatile, specially when it comes to my body's expression of emotions. What all the gibberish in the previous line means is that I have ABSOLUTELY NO Control over the rampant, and rather frequent emotional outbursts. Right now, I happen to be in an absolutely fantastic mood. So before I start swinging with my moods, I'll let you in on an epiphany that I had about 15 minutes ago. I could have written this post 15 minutes ago, but then, there wasn't a single accessible computer in my vicinity. Anyway, moving on with my epiphany...
Little do we realize how easy it is to let go of stuff we keep repressed inside ourselves. It is surely a lot easier than we think. Ever felt a helplessness within, that just seems to incapacitate your ability to think straight? And by thinking straight, I do not imply "thinking straight" in terms of sexual orientation. I have no clue why I went and specifically clarified that point. Moving on.
This thought you bear inside nags at you, irrespective of whatever it is that you are doing. And yes, it is wearing you down. For instance, in my case, there was this one issue that I held inside for a long time. I went blank more times than I could count, because I kept thinking about this issue I kept bottled inside.
The usual advice you get, when dealing with bottled emotions is "Tell someone about it.". You know what? That's a load of bull. Or maybe, if that works for you, well and good. But what if your confidante isn't around?
We spend all our time running from feeling the way we feel, specially if we are feeling pathetic. There are also who deny themselves their happiness. Goodness knows why. The point is, instead of feeling miserable about feeling miserable, we should simply feel miserable all at once, instead of entering multiple levels of feeling miserable, like the levels of dreaming in the movie Inception. Wow! Did I just type the last line? Shit!
I saw that if you simply let your emotions engulf you, you get to realize that it is just a feeling you are going through. So feel it. Don't fight it. Let your body respond how it is meant to. And most importantly, I feel it is absolutely pointless to hold back tears. We feel that we are in control  when we can control our tears. And the bottled stuff manifests itself in some very unpleasant manner with consequences a lot worse than if you had let tears roll down your cheeks.
Besides, tears really cleanse the soul. Yes, I am completely aware "tears cleanse the soul", the line is a cliché,  but it is true nevertheless.
I was walking back with a very close friend of mine. He said something that really shook me a little. He said "I want someone to really hold me tight!". Well, he also said that he wanted someone to dry-hump him. I won't bother explaining the latter line that he told me. But the first line he uttered, shook me for a reason. I have felt the exact way myself. There are times I have wanted to grab hold of someone and hug them so tight that they can feel nothing on this planet can harm them. I've obviously wanted someone to hug me as tight, that I feel a bit safer. There is something about a tight embrace that completely drives all your insecurities away. That's why it is probably called "Jaadoo ki Jhappi".
I felt a bit miserable for not having hugged this friend of mine. It isn't like we haven't hugged each other tightly before. But yesterday, I was just plain dumb, I suppose. I don't know. Maybe next time, when you know someone dear to you is really upset, just hug him/her tight. Just thinking about hugging someone made me heave a sigh of relief. So you can wonder how it would feel for real!

Aduthood sucks.

I still remember the day before my 18th birthday. Well, sort of. I mean, the prospects of turning into an adult in a matter of just 24 more hours left me with an inexplicable anticipation. If you are an adult, I'm sure you can relate. In case you can't relate to what I just wrote, you're not an adult yet. Or you are a very unexcited person in general. My today's agenda is world-bashing, so please feel free to get offended at every remark I make.
The world we live in is on a mission to wring out every drop of the child inside each of us. From when we've been kids, it's always been "Act matured!", "Act matured!", "Act matured!". End result? If we survive the ordeal of middle age, we end up holding all the pent up childhood between our legs and turning into senile oldies.
Look carefully. No one does anything to force us into the "mould" we find ourselves inside. There is something inherent in our make-up that suggests strength in number. And hence, flocking together seems convenient. So we readily give up fun, joy and pleasure, which also strangely happens to be an inherent part of our innate nature.
There's something about songs that trigger emotions that remain repressed usually. Tis specially if you can understand the lyrics. A lot of times, very profound lines find themselves inside songs, and often times, go unnoticed, because of our ignorance.
Here's the line that's really driving me crazy right now...
मन बोले की रस में जीने का हरजाना दुनिया दुश्मन।
(Mann bole ki Ras mein jeene ka harjaana Duniya dushman)
Which translates to "The fine you pay for living as per your wishes is enmity with the world".
As a kid, I wanted to grow up. Big mistake in wishing for something like that. Grow up, and there's this onslaught of all the inescapable Shoulds, Coulds, Supposed tos, and Musts'.
One won't be appreciated for one's good work. Appreciation is only a sign that you delivered well that which was expected of you. You aren't to choose your leaders. If you do, the leaders should comply with criteria prescribed in some textbook! You see, everything is standardized. It's like this.
In an experiment, where one needs to plot a graph, and the expected result is a straight line, what we do everyday is...
http://www.antonine-education.co.uk/Image_library/Physics_3/graph_5.JPG

We simply ignore stuff that we can't get hold of. Why? We've lost our ability to ask or "Whys". It was beaten out of us when we were in school. Either that, or we just happen to be scared to be the only raised hand amid a sea of scared heads. Nothing like what we were when we were kids. If we had something that remained unresolved in our head, up went the hand without a second thought. Now? Of those who manage to raise their hands, they prop their elbow on the desk, pointing their index finger to the roof, suggesting that they're not clear with what just happened. It's like the part of their arm between their shoulder and elbow has been sequestered from their bodies.
We play silent games. If there is something unresolved between people, they ignore whatever it is that remains unresolved. They even ignore each other. For as adults, we know that no problem remains a problem if ignored long enough. Hence, why go through all the pain of resolving things, when they can just be ignored? The only resolution we concern ourselves with is that of the screens of our hand-held devices.
Now, a thing about fear. We don't do most of what we want to do, purely out of a fear of consequences that we have simulated in our scared little heads. Again, look at a kid. He/she does things without fear, because fear is a stranger to the kid. Whether or not the kid succeeds is a completely different question. What if the kid was bogged down by some deep instilled fear, even before doing something? Forget the outcome. The kid wouldn't even begin what he/she was going to. If that has happened, we aren't looking at a kid at all. The person is an adult already.
And mind you, my frustration doesn't stem from only that what I see happening outside me. As a matter of fact, the source of my frustration is when I see myself betraying the voice inside my own head. It is when my body stops at a time when my mind is saying "Don't relent". Then, I see I see someone else doing the same thing as I, and I feel that a part of me has lost its battle against the world, against The Wall, against every brick in that wall.
What is it that makes brazen comments from a kid sound cute and charming,  but abhorrent when uttered by a "Grown up"?. We get all uptight and offended, so badly wanting to get hold of the joystick of life. Give that joystick to a kid. Watch the kid have fun. This is not just proverbial bull. Watch a kid playing with a joystick. You'll see the "Joy" coming out of a joystick. That's what a joystick is for anyway, isn't it?

Sway...

There are few songs that you listen to, that make you feel like breaking into a dance the very moment they start. And since I sit in a 10x10 box of a room, I am a bit constrained in terms of the space I have at my disposal. But nevertheless, my imagination serves me more faithfully than I can ask it to. For inside my head, I could be waltzing, foxtrotting, or tangoing in the largest Ballroom, equipped with 8 spotlights, all focused on my partner and me. Oh! Almost forgot! Since I am still inside my head, I can choose the partner of my liking, and make the beautiful lady bend, fly and spin on my command, or that of my strong arms. Now, I'm just showing off. But yes, dancing is as wonderful in reality, as you'd like to imagine. What am I saying?? Dancing in reality v/s Dancing in your dreams? Dancing in reality wins pants down! Wait.. Does winning take place pants down? Or is it hands down? Ah,Chuck it! Who's bothering anyway?
It's the movies again. If I watch a movie, the theme of the movie lingers in my thoughts for a long while after I've seen it. I just saw the movie "Shall we dance", and now, all I can think of is a lady in my arms, and the two of us in that amazing ballroom I just described a while ago. The movie "Shall we dance" isn't all that great. But it was good enough to trigger the Dance-bug in me. And right now, I can't bloody help but think about waking up tomorrow, and grabbing the first lady I see, and dancing with her. But alas.... The moment I wake up tomorrow, I'll get this thought of dancing with the lady. It will most probably coincide with the time my alarm bell rings. So I'll chuck the thoughts of dancing, tell the alarm clock to go fuck itself, and off shall I go to sleep. Sucks, right?
But you never know about "Tomorrow". Maybe tomorrow, I'll hear the alarm bell go off, curse the living daylights out of the alarm clock, but somehow fight my urge to go back to sleep. Then I just might go through the regular morning ablution-rituals I usually go through, and step out of my shabby room, looking like the most awesomest thing that can ever exist. And then, I shall magically run into a pretty woman, magically for her of course, and then, we shall break into a dance in the middle of a bunch of college students, whose jaws just dropped 3 seconds ago. And the lady and I shall dance till we remember how the other smells, and then, we shall part to take care of our usual day's work. By the way, the crowd that surrounded us during the time we danced, are still searching for their jaws on the other side of the planet. Sucks for them, I know.

Dancing is a very strange, but wonderful activity that we Sapiens engage in, specially the close-quarter types. I can say this with certainty, despite having danced full-on only twice. The closest analogy to dancing that I can sight is probably breaking into a horse, or maybe getting used to a bike, neither of which I have any past experience of. I've only read about breaking into horses, and getting used to a motorcycle.
There's always a bit of resistance in the very beginning. An invisible barrier. This is where all the lofty concepts like 'building trust', 'persistence', etc come in. THere is always this "Why-the-hell-shall-I-trust-myself-in-your-arms" expression on one of the partner's face, usually that of the lady's. That feeling is kind-of justified. Or maybe it is not. Either way, work on this initial Saint-Gobain-Invisible-glass problem just a little while more than you think the barrier will hold itself, and WOALAH! Break-in! Then what awaits you is poetry in motion, quite literally. And yes, it has a flow to it!
Then all that remains for one of the two dancers, is to "Take the lead". Now there's another Dance-movie. A lot better than "Shall we dance". You can say that a dance movie is always better off having Antonio Banderas in the lead instead of Richard Gere. You see, there is something about brute Spanish passion, that simply overpowers graceful white skin. Hopefully, I won't be called a racist for the last line. Like I care...
Another Dance movie, that has gained notoriety for its title is "Dirty Dancing". There ain't an ounce of dirt in the entire movie. I didn't even see a horse falling into a muddy pit and dirtying its legs. That drives the point home, I hope.
So this is exactly what I am going to do from now on. I'll watch movies, and try to fit their titles into sentences. Then I'll link the movie-titles in the sentences to their IMDB page, just for the sake of enlightening people about all the amazing movies that they could have missed, had they not joblessly, clicked my blog's link. I wish that were my job description. As for tomorrow morning, some lady must be getting lucky!Or maybe, I'll curse my alarm clock and just go back to sleep.

Rage

I feel a maddening sensation inside. I'm waiting to explode at the sight of the very first person whom I might come across, who even unknowingly pushes me over the fine line between anger and madness, that I'm tight-roping on. I have the usual suspects, on whom I think I'll be exploding. So, for now, I'm trying to keep at a safe distance from them.
Tick-tock,
Tick-tock,
That sounds like the clock
For me, it is rage, for you it's shock,
Maybe I'll take a walk,
But if you came to me to talk,
You're head will hit a rock.
What a shock! What a shock!
Don't make me give a fuck,
Else in your life shall
Nemesis run amock!

Wow! For the first time, the writing things out loud hasn't quelled my restlessness. I guess there's always a first time to everything.
I just had a realization, as usual. There are some things that affect you, that you do not acknowledge as a cause of your disappointment. But these things stay somewhere in the back of your mind, manifest themselves much later when you least expect them to. And boy, do they trouble you! Trouble is that you never really can "Not" think about them. The worst part is that, even in your own mind, these troubles look and sound puny in nature. So your self esteem, rather ego, doesn't permit you to share the trouble with another person, no matter how dear the person may be to you. You simply don't trust your thoughts in the hand of another. So it stays inside. It rolls.... downhill. And then, before you know, this little nag you had inside a while ago, has snowballed into a full-size rage monster.
Thing is, you can't even hide this monster inside. One look into your eyes will let anyone you know, that you are being controlled by your demons. The strange part is that you don't exactly mind being controlled by this demon, at least for now. What you think after you have wrecked havoc somewhere is anyones guess.
But herein lies the problem with our civilized world. NO FIGHTING! NO FLIGHTING! This is the first part of the problem. The second part is that if, suppose you do engage in an act of barbarism, you'll inevitably hurt a loved one. Unavoidable collateral. If not a loved one, someone WILL get hurt for sure. And now, I'm simply ranting.
There we have it.. Modern society! A madly angry man sits in front of a screen and rants his mind out. What all is left to try?
Push-ups-- DONE..
Running--DONE..
Sleeping-- DONE..
Writing-- DONE..
Fapping-- DONE..

What else do you do to impede your anger? If there is something that remains, it's only talking. And that's one thing I have been perpetually incapable of, specially during my pangs of madness.
I'll tell you what. I guess this post should have been titled "Return of the KID".
We all love kids. I specially don't mind a cranky crying shit-piss-and-puke producing machines. It's probably because I haven't had to deal with one anyway. Agreed, Kids are cute. But so are piglets! I doubt that there is any kid who was born MACHO, with extra pair of balls. Maybe there must have been some kid born with extra pair of testicles, but then he must have been a genetic anomaly.... more like a genetic miracle.
So, kids are cute, as long as they mind their own stuff, and do not interfere with your shit. But when they do interfere with your shit, more so, when they interfere with MY shit, I don't have qualms pressing a pillow on such kids till they suffocate. That last line would probably get me arrested, were I to star in Minority Report. But then Tom Cruise got that role. Damn him! Okay, he did play the role well.
Now, I'm surprised at my capacity to relentlessly come up with words, as an excuse to kill my anger. So, where was I? Yeah, I hate kids with noses too long for their own good. Trouble is, besides having long noses, these little fuckers are deaf. So they won't hear you telling them to "Fuck off". Maybe I'll break the nose of such kids. That will take care of a part of the cost of Rhinoplasty, to fix that nose. Maybe a whack on their ears will also fix their hearing. Goodness! So much for sucky genetics! Maybe it'll be worth the effort, if my anger dies down on the process.
After re-reading my last line, the ounce of prudence that's left inside some nook of my cranium tells me that there is a part of the big picture that is evading my sight.

Worldly conspiracy

While typing the title of this post, I was on the verge of typing "Worldly Constipation" instead of "Worldly conspiracy". I don't know why so. It's probably because I mixed up the words "Conspiracy" with "Conspiration". The latter word doesn't exist, I suppose. With that out of the way, let me move on to today's agenda.
I'm not sure if it is only with me, or is it that we all look for signs, symbols and indications that foretell a favorable situation for ourselves? For instance, "If I toss a dice, and 6 appears, my day will go awesome!", or "If I toss a coin, and 6 appears on top, I'll win at the casino.". Well, if you are in a casino, and your game requires a 6 to appear for you to win, the indication you are looking is sort-of justified. But I want to ask a question, as rhetorical as it may sound. My question is this..
If we see a sign of something that indicates to us a higher likelihood of getting what we want, is that sign/indication real? Or is it a figment of our imagination that gives us some form of fake reassurance to quell our inner restlessness?
With every word I type into this post, I get a feeling that the post is becoming more and more abstract. Now, THAT is a sign/indication I'm getting. I have no clue of its authenticity.
Why is it that we crave certainty? Tarot card and palm readers, fortune tellers, crystal ball shamans piss me off to no end. And as self contradictory as I might sound, I hate my own incessant quest to know whether what I feel and believe is true or not. Having said that, I am myself a big fan of the "Qaynaat" line from the movie "Om Shanti Om", the one that goes like this....

Itni shiddat se main tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai,(So passionately have I tried to get you)
ki har zaare ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai.(That every universal molecule has conspired to bring you to me)

Kehte hain ki ...... Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho to puri kayanat usey tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai.
(This line is just the re phrasal of the last two lines)
Sure as hell, the above lines sound cool! But I have a hunch that some dude cooked up these lines to make his desperately uncertain fellow beings feel a bit better about their plight. Maybe what he said is actually true. Maybe, it is just wordy bollocks. Or maybe, the chap who wrote it, was not sure whether what he's written is true or not, but wrote it nevertheless, just to make himself feel better. Personally, I wish that the part, where the molecules conspire to make your passionate wish come alive, is true. But, I really don't think that nano technology and CLONING have gotten that advanced to replicate humans, at least as of now. But then, the concept sounds fascinating. Or maybe, the technology has already developed, but is hidden from public knowledge, in some place like Area 51.
But iff, just iff, there is even an ounce of truth in all this Urdu, the dude who wrote this must've been a genius! I just hope I find the thing I want to put all my "shiddat"(passion) into. I sure wish you do too. Else, if you're looking for it that badly, the world wouldn't exactly mind conspiring on your behalf to unite you with your passion, I guess.
